The Transfagarasan Highway is open for driving only from July to October. Outside this period, you can use the cable car instead of driving (if the weather condititons allow) to reach the highest point of the highway.
Expect light walking at attractions and some cobbled or uneven terrain in old towns. Comfortable clothing and walking shoes according to season are recommended. Children under 5 are not allowed inside the Libearty Bear Sanctuary for safety and animal welfare reasons - proof of age may be required. Some attractions may not be suitable for people with limited mobility due to climbing stairs and walking on inclined cobbled streets.
